Forum: Editorial Discussions   Topic: Old Idea; New Sales Pitch - The North American Union ID

Tyranny indeed! I think I would prefer to have a passport to go into the USA instead of this high-tech, privacy-stealing, fascist-stirring new driver's license. I am not sure if this is accurate but I heard the United Kingdom is also developing a similiar type of ID card. --- "A person who walks in ...

It appears Canada is always being compared to the USA. Why not compare us to other industrialised nations as well.

I have no idea if Target will come to Canada. And as for losing HBC, yes it is sad but Canadian business men and women could always create new retail chains. Let's just hope that if they do, they don't sell them to another foreign company or investor down the road. --- "A person who walks in someone...

Well said Brent Swain. Although calling people with more than two kids an inresponsible asshole is not right. The people who have more than two kids in today's society are just not thinking about the long-term problems like pollution, consumerism (like you mentioned), loss of ecosystems.

Very true. When I do visit the US, it is always strange to me to see "Speed Limit: 25". Even though I know it is in miles, it still looks wrong. Personally, the US and the two other countries you mentioned Jacob should go Metric. It is a better system and simplier to figure out. Plus, they...

Where has all the Canadian businesses gone? Gone to foreign buyers, almost everyone. When will the Canadian government and business CEO's learn? Probably not soon enough. I know my lyrics aren't that good. Try to sing that to the theme "where has all the flowers gone?" --- "A person who wa...

I believe Canada should stick with its controlled immigration policy allowing a fixed number of immigrants per year. And having more children will not the solve the world's overpopulation problem. Death rate has decreased in all countries, more so in industrialised wealthy countries. Families should...

I wonder if there is hope that Canada will wake up and realize what it has become and how to revert itself, somehow, back to the independent thinking country it once was? I will stay in Canada until I see a point of no return. --- "A person who walks in someone elses footprints leaves no footprints....

Good points. A question: When our dollar rises against the US dollar, does it rise against the UK Pound and Euro? As for the beer comment, I am not a beer drinker so beer isn't good to me at all at any price! :) --- "A person who walks in someone elses footprints leaves no footprints." Chinese Proverb

Cascadia, I don't hate Americans either. They are wonderful people under a bad government. But isn't most countries in this world in the same situation? Citizens elect governments and if citizens are being mistreated by their government, they can take them down. Best of luck to you and to the rest o...

Communism is a bad form of government and rules with an iron fist. But don't forget, equally as bad is fascism. It rules with an iron fist as well. Will we ever see a day where the world is rid of communism, fascism, and the corrupt democracies of the world? Hard to say but I'm hopeful. It may take ...
